Introduction

Apodissi, a small-medium enterprise with offices in Lagos (Nigeria), Windhoek (Namibia) and Dubai (UAE). It is specialised in knowledge transfer in emerging markets, international innovation and research projects, and development and customisation of industrial technologies. Apodissi is characterised by a strong female presence. In Apodissi we have women collaborating from different locations worldwide, their degrees ranging from Bachelor to PhD. In all our activities we work with a conduct code, we work on inclusion and on a strong work-life balance for all our partners in all the countries.
 
To guarantee the respect of our Code of Conduct, our Sustainability Plan and our Gender and Equality Plan our team has appointed a Sustainability Manager with a strong experience in this field.

Work-Life Balance and Stereotypes

  1. Flexible Working Hours: To ensure work-life balance, Apodissi implements flexible working hours and remote working options. This is particularly beneficial for our collaborators located in different parts of the world and employees with family care commitments.
  2. Breaking Stereotypes: Apodissi conducts regular workshops and awareness programmes to break gender stereotypes and promote a culture of respect and equality.
    Training is provided to each and every person working in Apodissi in relation to Gender Equality.
    Mentoring/Tutoring: staff joining Apodissi can count on a senior manager who tutors new collaborators with weekly mentoring sessions for the first six months and monthly sessions after the first six months.

Gender Balance in Senior Management and Decision-Making Role

  1. Equal Opportunities: Apodissi ensures that women are given equal opportunities to rise to senior management roles. This will be done by providing them with the necessary training and mentorship.
  2. Inclusive Decision Making: Apodissi involves employees from all genders in decision-making processes to ensure diverse perspectives are considered.

Gender Equality in Recruitment and Career Progression

  1. Non-Discriminatory Hiring: Apodissi follows a non-discriminatory hiring process where candidates are evaluated based on their skills, qualifications, and suitability for the role, not their gender.
  2. Career Development: Apodissi provides equal opportunities for career progression to all co-workers, collaborators, associates and partners, regardless of their gender. Regular performance reviews are conducted through training sessions and one-to one meetings to identify and nurture talent.

Incorporation of Gender Dimension into Training Programs

  1. Gender Sensitisation Training: Apodissi incorporates gender sensitisation into its vocational training programmes and capacity building programmes to inform innovators, startups, entrepreneurs, policy makers and educators about gender issues and promote a culture of respect and equality.
  2. Entrepreneurship Training for Women: Apodissi advocates entrepreneurship training programs for women to prepare them for leadership roles.

Fighting Gender-Based Violence

  1. Zero Tolerance Policy: Apodissi has a zero-tolerance policy towards gender-based violence. Any such incidents will be dealt with strictly, and necessary action will be taken.
  2. Safe Reporting Mechanism: Apodissi has a safe and confidential reporting mechanism for employees to report any incidents of gender-based violence.
